Guiding Principles

WHCA Board of Directors – Guiding Principles

Per the CC&Rs, this community was set up as a Title 10 Corporation acting as an HOA.  Because of that, Title 33 concerning legitimate HOAs does not apply.
  1. We believe in open, honest, respectful, and transparent communications. We will always be professional and will not engage in community gossip.
  2. We believe in addressing issues head on, in a straightforward manner with no hidden agendas.
  3. We believe that all owners have a voice and are entitled to express it.
  4. We believe that all owners are our neighbors and should be treated as such.
  5. We envision a Woodland Hills community that is friendly and respectful to all, even when we don’t agree with each other.
  6. We will not fall prey to the vocal minority at the expense of the silent majority, recognizing that we represent all WHCA owners and when issues arise, we will strive to find fair solutions that balance the interests of all owners.
  7. We will work to find solutions that solve the problems at hand while respecting the property rights of all owners.
  8. We will not let our personal preferences interfere with our responsibility to be open-minded and fair to all owners.
  9. We will strive to enforce the CC&Rs and Bylaws in a sensible and practical manner and will treat
  10. all owners professionally and with the utmost respect.

These principles are not just words. They will shape our actions as we endeavor to implement plans to
live up to the words. To begin, we will be doing the following to improve our communications and
resident participation:

  1. There will be more open meetings, either in-person, by Zoom, or both.
  2. Meeting notes will be published on our website for all to see.
  3. Resident surveys will be conducted on occasion, so board decisions are not made unilaterally.
  4. Survey results will be published on our website for all to see.
  5. Introducing the new website is a step in the right direction as we endeavor to seek improvement in 2-way communication. CC&R’s, Bylaws, FAQ’s, fillable forms are available, as well as “trivia” like sharing recipes and photos, posting ads, or garage sales, all intended to bring real-time information to you and it is hoped, a boost in harmony and fellowship within our neighborhood
